Habitat For Humanity Twin Cities and Ironmark

Ironmark is proud of our lasting relationship with Habitat for Humanity Twin Cities. It has become an event that all employees look forward to every year, no matter what the weather is! As a group, we typically volunteer for a one or two day build depending on the needs of the build. We look to volunteer around framing time to capitalize on our construction expertise and carpentry skills. The two builds in 2021 and 2020 were both single family homes in the Twin Cities.

In the fall of 2021, Ironmark employees participated in a build in West Saint Paul. The majority of the morning consisted of taking down three stories of scaffolding around the entire project. After the team was able to get their hands on some interior work installing windows around the house. Some employees were tasked with completing interior backing and blocking, while others framed out the attic access opening.

In both 2020 and 2021 there were periods of time no volunteers were allowed. Lucky for us, in the fall of 2020, we secured volunteer build days early. The Ironmark team was able to commit two days at the build in North Minneapolis. The first day we completed the floor sheathing on level one and started on wall panel layout. The next day we were back at it efficiently moving on to tipping level one walls and were able to start on the level one floor trusses.

This is a great event for not only our field employees but also our office employees who aren’t on the job site daily. We always have a great time with Habitat for Humanity and look forward to building later this year!
